Camel kneeling. During the Tang era, the camels arriving from the Silk Road were symbols of precious commodities. Chinese were particularly excited about what they were carrying and potential novelties.

In ancient China, numerous tomb figurines and other artifacts were designed specifically to be buried with the deceased in large burial mounds. They were made to serve the emperors & other important people in the afterlife.
